Twenty Third Street Distillery is named for its location on the corner of Twenty Third Street & Renmark Avenue in Renmark, South Australia. Situated in the former home of known wine labels which include Hardy’s Wine, Berri Estate and Chateau Tanunda. The site closed in 2004 and was then reopened in 2016 as Twenty Third Street Distillery. They boast three South Australian built copper stills which hold approximately a 7,500 litre capacity.
This 100% Australian Single Malt Whisky has been patiently biding its time. Australian Pale Malt Barley was selected for the heart of this spirit, after fermentation the liquor was split for distillation between the historic Pot 1 & 2 Copper Stills. Matured separately in 200L first-fill ex-Bourbon American oak barrels across four Riverland summers, then masterfully blended to allow Pot 1 & Pot 2 characters to layer and harmonize.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Citrus and floral notes of orange blossom, creamy toffee, whole grain cereals and subtle spice.
Palate: Creamy toffee, orange peel, lime citrus and all spice.
Finish: Sweet pastry, vanilla and honey.
