Adelphi exist to identify the very small number of casks that have produced the ultimate whiskies. The criteria for selection include rarity and maturity, but above all flavour. These whiskies are both rare and sought-after – these very special casks are so rare that, on average, Adelphi accepts a mere 4% that it is offered. Each single cask of whisky matures its contents very differently, imparting its own character to the whisky it holds and, as a result, there are never two Adelphi’s quite the same.
Adelphi have released this blended whisky from their private stock as a limited release. Using a blend of peated grain and peated malt they have created a cask strength blend that has become hot property in the whisky industry. It’s limited to 960 bottles for the entire planet and I’d suggest getting your hands on this sooner rather than later. Bottled at a whopping 57.6% abv.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh peaches, coastal sea spray, earthy, toffee sweetness, vanilla oak and a slight hint of exhaust fumes.
Palate: Sea salt, red fruits, honeycomb, peppery spice and wood smoke, vanilla and hazelnut nougat with a slight chocolate milkiness.
Finish: Creamy vanilla, charred meats, new leather and wood smoke combine with oak spice extremely well.
