Lark Distillery has been renowned for producing whisky for many years and it has collected many awards for its balanced well matured spirit. It is only fitting that the distillery would one day produce an outstanding gin to compliment its knowledge of spirit production. Forty Spotted Gin has been created by the distillery to offer a product that defines elegance and refinement. Named after Tasmania’s rarest bird, the Forty-spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus quadragintus) – an endemic creature. Inspired by the raw beauty of Tasmania, Forty Spotted are incredibly passionate about what they create.
Using the Tasmanian pepperberry Forty Spotted have created a gin that is for the inquisitive and creative at heart. It marries fresh fresh kaffir lime leave and lemon peel to sweet, lingering notes of herbs and spices. A clean fresh approach but excitingly complex, a spirit designed to excite the curious drinker.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Fresh and vibrant notes of pepperberries, herbs and spices excite the senses. Floral notes bring out the delightful juniper notes.
Palate: The juniper is now spicy, the gin dry and clean with peppery notes and fresh lemon citrus.
Finish: It’s here we experience fresh kaffir limes which combine with the wonderful herbs and spices.
