Lark Distillery has been renowned for producing whisky for many years and it has collected many awards for its balanced well matured spirit. It is only fitting that the distillery would one day produce an outstanding gin to compliment its knowledge of spirit production. Forty Spotted Gin has been created by the distillery to offer a product that defines elegance and refinement. Named after Tasmania’s rarest bird, the Forty-spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus quadragintus) – an endemic creature. Inspired by the raw beauty of Tasmania, Forty Spotted are incredibly passionate about what they create.
A limited release by the team at Forty Spotted and a chance for them to show you their creative instincts. Combining the classic gin with Pinot Noir seemed like a good idea and in-fact it was a superb idea. Sweet, fruity combination of Tasmania’s finest, full-bodied Pinot grapes, peppery juniper, and a secret blend of fragrant spices. Hints of delicate citrus tangle with dark berries and plums in a warming embrace of rich, reddish-purple.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Summer berries and dark Autumn fruits combine to balance with spice and juniper.
Palate: Sweet dark fruits, luscious summer berries, pink grapefruit and berry jam.
Finish: A warming spice and some hints of rose.
