North Star Spirits is an independent bottler based in Glasgow, Scotland. They pride themselves on bottling the finest single malt Scotch whisky, blended whisky and blended malt Scotch whisky. Producing artisan single cask whisky from various regions of Scotland as well as bottling rums, gins and Bourbon whiskey. All products are small batch, bottled at cask strength.
Spica facts: Part of the constellation VIRGO, 16th brightest star in the sky, 250 light years from Earth, SPICA comes from the latin phrase ‘Ear of Wheat’, VIRGO is associated with the Greek goddess of the harvest ‘Ceres’.
This is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky, aged 40 years in European and American oak barrels. Only 877 bottles available worldwide.
Distilled in 1980 and bottled in 2000.
Tasting Notes

Nose: Dark berries, heaps of Sherry fruits, raisins and figs, dark chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamon.
Palate: Tropical fruits of passionfruit, lychee and mango. Orchard fruits of apricot and peaches. Citrus, tobacco, red berries, toasted nuts.
Finish: Citrus peels, black pepper and tobacco.
