Adelphi exist to identify the very small number of casks that have produced the ultimate whiskies. The criteria for selection include rarity and maturity, but above all flavour. These whiskies are both rare and sought-after – these very special casks are so rare that, on average, Adelphi accepts a mere 4% that it is offered. Each single cask of whisky matures its contents very differently, imparting its own character to the whisky it holds and, as a result, there are never two Adelphi’s quite the same.
Adelphi have released this blended whisky with an age statement of 11 years but have limited it to 1404 bottles worldwide. This eighth batch from Adelphi who have named the bottling Glenborrodale which means ‘Fortified Valley’  is the name of the valley on the peninsula of Ardnamurchan where the Adelphi distillery is built.
This vatted blend has plenty of sherry notes and touches of smoke, just the flavour combination we all love.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Digestive biscuits, almonds, honey and toasted oats.
Palate: Golden syrup, caramelised nuts, creamy toffee, salted butter and soft smoke.
Finish: Fresh mint, salted caramel and some subtle smoke.
